A friend just made a big jump from XP to 10. He had been using Outlook Express for his POP mail. OE Classic seems to be a great replacement, since it opened all his dbx files, complete with the folder structure he had set up in Outlook Express.
Our problem is, I can't find a way to make OE Classic respond to mailto links. He's using Chrome.
Settings>System>Default apps>Email - gives only 3 choices: Chrome, Mail, and look in the appstore
Settings>System>Default apps>Set defaults by app - OE Classic does not appear in the list of programs.
OE Classic is installed and works fine, and it's not a portable, it does show up in the add/remove programs list.
I'm guessing this is a problem with OE Classic. Any thoughts?

To import your Windows Mail email accounts, folders and messages in Windows Live Mail: Start Windows Mail. Select Tools Accounts. From the menu. Highlight the desired email account. Click Export. Click Save to export the settings to a.iaf file named after the account in your Documents folder. Open Windows Live Mail. In the Windows Live Mail window, click the File button and select Exportand then select Email messages. Select Microsoft Exchange as the format and then click Next.
I have just bought a HP Spectre x360 laptop running Windows 10 and the first thing I'm trying to get set up is my email. I've been using Windows Live Mail for a long time now and I'm happy with it so if possible I'd like to keep using it. I'm 64 and don't like change! I can't understand why they took this out of Windows 10 as it's a brilliant email program. Anyway I have been checking the web and found that a lot of people have successfully installed Live Mail on their Windows 10 systems but every time I try I get a message saying the installation has failed and the following error code; Error; 0x800c0006
Am I doing something wrong here? Is there any way I can get Live Mail to install on my system?
